Dulquer Salmaan was born on 28 July 1986 as the younger son of actor Mammootty and Sulfath. He studied in Kerala till primary classes, after which he joined Sishya School in Chennai. He received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University, U.S. He married Chennai-based architect Amal Sufiya, on 22 December 2011.

Charlie is a 2015 Indian Malayalam-language adventure drama film directed by Martin Prakkat and written by Prakkat and Unni R.Produced by Prakkat, Joju George and Shebin Becker, the film stars Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy. The music is composed by Gopi Sundar, while Jomon T. John handles the cinematography. 

The film released on 24 December. It won 8 awards at the 46th Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Cinematography. 


2. Ustad Hotel


Anwar Rasheed’s Ustad Hotel was the second and one of the Best Movies of Dulquer Salmaan, which came with a wonderful script by Anjali Menon. Dulquer plays the role of Faizal (Faizi), who is inspired to become a chef, but being opposed by his father. In despite turn of events, he joins with his grandfather who runs a restaurant in the beautiful city of Kozhikode.

Faizi evolves from a man who is focussed on achieving the dreams to someone who gives up everything for the sake of the love from his grandfather. This Dulquer Salmaan movie has brought a soothing feeling, which was at its peak in the scene where we can see the glow in the face of Faizi when children inscribed thanks in sign language on his palms.

3. Bangalore Days


Anjali Menon’s Bangalore Days is the story of three cousins Arjun, Divya and Kuttan. At a certain point of time, three cousins move to the same city, Bangalore, under different circumstances and the film portrays their care, love, hope and cheerfulness.

Dulquer plays the role of Arjun, who had lived a troubled life, being a school drop-out and son of divorced parents. His character still brings a certain type of charm to the screen. One of the Best Movies of Dulquer Salmaan and is highly celebrated even to this day.

4. O Kadhal Kanmani


Mani Ratnam’s O Kadhal Kanmani portrays the story of Adhi and Tara, who are in a live-in relationship and both unwilling to get married. His character oozes romance at every glance and is sure to give you ample butterflies in your stomach. This Dulquer Salmaan movie will leave you with an everlasting smile on your face too.

5. Kammatti Paadam


Rajeev Ravi’s Kammatti Paadam is the story of Krishnan (Dulquer Salmaan) and Ganga (Vinayakan), their childhood living in the explosive, violent atmosphere, as they grew up with thugs and criminals. Krishnan has been living away from his family and friends in Mumbai, gets a call from his friend Ganga in Kammatti Paadam where they grew up. 

Sensing danger Krishnan leaves for Kammattipadam which make the storyline. Dulquer portrays the role of Krishnan with absolute ease. 

He has given his best to this character, managing to pull the right chords for the right emotions at all times. One of the Best Movies of Dulquer Salmaan.

6. Vikramadithyan


Vikramadithyan is a 2014 Malayalam comedy-drama film co-produced and directed by Lal Jose. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Unni Mukundan and Namitha Pramod. The screenplay is by Iqbal Kuttippuram, while Jomon T. John handles the cinematography. The music is composed by Bijibal. The film was released on 25 July 2014.
